Mr. Secretary General,

Mr. President,

Esteemed colleagues,

The Pact represents a shared commitment to strengthen multilateralism and deliver for future generations. It has provided valuable political momentum and direction for a new beginning in multilateralism, and now we must focus on turning these visions into real change on the ground.

*****

Colleagues,

The implementation of the Pact must first and foremost be results-driven.  In this context, Denmark sees monitoring and evaluation as important to turning our collective commitments into tangible outcomes.

Monitoring and evaluation are not just technical exercises – they are political tools that enable us assess progress, identify shortcomings and adjust course where necessary. To be effective, they must be inclusive and grounded in credible and transparent reporting systems.

Additionally, Denmark strongly supports aligning the Pact’s implementation with existing frameworks. This will strengthen coherence, prevent duplication, and ensure effective and efficient tracking of progress.

*****

Furthermore, Denmark supports the Pacts vision of inclusive multilateralism.

For this to succeed, implementation of the Pact must be driven by those closest to the challenges, including civil society, youth and the private sector.

Inclusive partnerships ensures that efforts are aligned with broader sustainability goals. This approach enhances coherence, fosters innovation while reinforcing national ownership, which is essential for the success of the Pact.

*****

Mr. Secretary General,

Mr. President,

Esteemed colleagues,

The UN80 Initiative sharpens our focus on the Pact for the Future, reminding us that this is a shared promise that requires both political will and practical reform.

Denmark welcomes the UN80 initiative as a significant step to strengthen and secure the UN’s ability to deliver for those who need it most.

Denmark remains fully committed to working with Member States to turn shared goals into shared gains — through national action, multilateral solidarity, and results-driven cooperation.

Thank you!
